May 23,2014
Yesterday, May 22, Clint and I told our families about the pregnancy. We told my mom first and took her a gift. I found some blocks that stack that say "the best moms get promoted to grandmas". She took one block out at a time and figured it out. She seemed genuinely happy. I think she is excited. Then we drove over to my dads to tell him. We were there for a bit talking and he showed us the basement of his house that he is redoing. Once we were outside I gave him a hug and whispered "You're going to be a grandpa next January." He was like "WHAT?!" He is happy too, and said that if we are happy then he is happy too. My sister told me that later on he said it will be a good thing. :) Then we went to tell Clint's brother and his fiance and their girls. Derek and Liz already knew, but we wanted to tell Brooke and Lilie too. Brooke asked me what was on my arm (the bruise from the pregnancy blood test). So I told her I had to get my blood drawn and I asked her if she knew why. She said no. So I said so the doctor could check to make sure that they would be getting a new cousin soon. It went way over Brooke's head, but Lilie grinned. Then Liz asked Brooke if she understood what that meant, and told her it means that I am going to have a baby. Brookie threw her face into her hands, sort of like "oh shit, here we go again!" :D.... then a minute later she goes "I hope we have a girl next!". :D :D It was so sweet. Then we went over to Clint's mom and dads to tell them. When we got there his mom was on the phone with his sister, and I heard her say "ohhhh, they've come with a gift"... hehehee. So we were all in the kitchen and his mom opened the gift, one block at a time. And she put it together but didn't seem to quite get it. She looked at me like "what???" All I could manage to say was that we are due in January. It was rather funny. They took it VERY well. Clint's dad said that I am going to be big by Christmas and Derek and Elizabeth's wedding in December. His mom seems pretty excited really. :) From there we drove over to his sister, Nicole's house. She had a hunch that the reason we were coming over was to tell them we are pregnant. :) So she knew before we got to say it! She asked her son, who is almost 3, "Do you know what is in Aunt Bridgette's belly?" He was like.. No?? She said a baby, and he got that shit eating grin that most boys do. Lydia, Nicole's daughter, I'm not sure heard what we were talking about or not. She was in the other room watching a "real cool show". LOL. It was a pretty awesome day. All went better than we were expecting. Thanking the Lord for that. Now we just need to talk to his Grandmother Mary Jo and my grandparents.. :) God has blessed us through and through.
